I think that this joke wan’t saying that Enoch was gay or anything. Or even saying that rednecks are gay. It just had a gay twist to it.
Re-Read it. The guy moved to total isolation. His redneck neighbout invites him to the party and warns him about the drinkin, fighting, and sex.
The “just you and me” part wasn’t a hit on, It was just the fact that nobody else lives around them
