Sizing it Up
A young gay man calls home and tells his Jewish mother that he has decided to go back into the closet because he has met a wonderful girl and they are going to be married. He tells his mother that he is sure she will be happier since he knows that his gay lifestyle has been very disturbing to her.
She responds that she is indeed delighted and asks tentatively, "I suppose it would be too much to hope that she would be Jewish?" He tells her that not only is the girl Jewish but from a wealthy Beverly Hills family. And her father is a doctor.
She admits she is overwhelmed by the news, and asks, "What is this wonderful girl's name?"
He answers, "Monica Lewinsky."
There is a pause, then his mother asks, "What happened to that nice black boy you were dating last year?"

The joke is very funny and it made me laugh out loudly, but it also shows the American bigotry in its full scope. Is Miss Lewinsky the only woman who has ever given head to a man? Is that such a big deal?
Millions of dollars were spent in the investigation of what went on between two consenting adults by Kenneth Starr (whose report shows that HE (Starr) is a sexually obsessed and repressed individual, who may have never enjoyed the kind of pleasure Bill Clinton derived from Miss L., quite pathetic!) due to the instigation of prurient Republicans who wanted to get rid of Clinton. That money could have been used for better schools, hospitals, etc…The whole Monica Lewinsky affair would’ve been unthinkable in Europe.
By the way, I happen to know a gay rabbi whose boyfriend is black, the rabbi’s family has accepted the lover as a welcome addition to the family.
