Count The Little Black Dots


This is a great illusion, actually it hurts my eyes. This one has been passed around a good bit, came across it originally a few years ago though it just popped up in our inbox again.

Usually known as the “Scintillation Grid“, was discovered by a chap named Elke Lingelbach of the Institut fur Augenoptik Aalen in Germany and is a modification of an illusion called the Hermann Grid, which dates way back to 1870!

    i REALLY don’t know- every time i move my eyes away from one white dot, it turns black- THIS IS COOL!! Gotta pass it on!!!!!!

    This phenomenon also works with colors. If you stare at a color intently, then avert your gaze to a white surface, you will momentarily see the complement of the color. This happens becuase the receptors in your eyes become fatigued for the particular spectral colors you stared at, and when you look at the white (which is all colors) surface, the afterimage loses those colors.

    HA! This one was done in my school.
    There are no black dots at all. Sorry for you who counted and hurt your eyes
    but like he said its an Illusion. If you acctually look, The dots are all white.
    the black dots disapear because there not acctually there.
