I’m certainly not young and definitely not innocent, but I’ve never heard of a barbiturate. Regardless of that, I guessed that it was referencing a drug but even now after reading about the drug it’s still not funny.

I first heard this joke in psychology class in 10th grade when we were discussing the effects of different drugs on the brain. Thus, I’m amused to see it again, knowing what it is reference to.
